Challenge #148...Numbers Game...

Well I certainly owe all of you and especially my fellow girlfriends a sincere apology for posting so late today...I totally forgot about it this morning at 5 o'clock when I went off to work and when I was at work I could not post because the internet is so sketchy at work sometimes...
I digress...I am home from work now and am able to post my challenge this week. Better late than never!
The challenge this week is to place a NUMBER on your project!!! Nice and simple. Again, I used my Cameo to weld some numbers together for a fab 5th birthday card for a special young man.

Link your projects and you may be hilighted at the end of the week...Happy Crafting!!

Challenge #147 -- Upcycle

Sorry I'm a bit late getting this post up, but without further ado . . . this week's challenge is all about recycling  any household items (or other items you wouldn't normally find in your favourite papercrafting store or aisle).
For those of you who know my (Tammy's) style, I'm ALL about being frugal and UP-cycling items.  I've been known to use the top of Klennex boxes, magazine images, clothing tags, etc.  The possibilities are really endless . . .  coffee filters, toothpicks, bottle caps, packaging, etc.

I have small stash of clothing tags reserved to use on my projects, so for today's piece, I chose this rugged tag from H&M:
It's not the focus of my layout, but it does add some texture and another layer to my page:
To clarify my title, my family is Portuguese (YES, hard to believe when I'm a red-head, but it's true!).
The word "joia" means jewel--both my boys are my precious jewels (my DH suggested I add gems to the page--gotta give him credit for that).  I call Caden my "little joia" and my older son Owen my "big joia".
I added the definition strip so Caden would never forget the nickname's meaning.

So go on scour your house (beyond your scrappy place) and think of a way to RECYCLE an item into
a beautiful papercrafting project.
Then link it up to our Mr. Linky list below.
Head on over to our other DT member's blogs for some great inspiration.

Happy Wednesday all! This week here at Little Red Wagon the challenge is "Dog Days of Summer." And that simply means that we want to see an animal, any animal, on your project!

Here's my example.....

Poor sad fuzzy guy. Perfect for an apology card. (Now I just have to go do something that I'm sorry for. ;-) )

You know you've got some animal stamps, paper, stickers, photos or whatnot in that stash of yours so get busy creating! And be sure to check out what fabby projects the other Girlfriends have come up with.

Then hustle back here and link your project up with Mister Linky.

Challenge #145 - Watermelon

Happy Wednesday to everyone! It is time for another fun challenge and I decided watermelon would be the perfect theme for this week!

I know that Watermelon might seem like an odd challenge, but it is the middle of summer and it is the perfect time of year to enjoy this yummy fruit and there are so many cute things you can create with watermelon as a theme!

Here is a picture to inspire you...

... and this is the card that I created.

I colored this sweet digi image from Whimsie Doodles and made a summer card for someone special :)

I hope you decide to play along this week and get creative with watermelon! Please link up your project below and be sure to visit the other girlfriends to see what they did with this challenge.
